I was born and raised in Delta, Alaska, and graduated from Montana Technological University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. After several years in that field, I returned to Alaska and began volunteering with an ambulance service, where I discovered my passion for medicine and helping people. During that time, I was fortunate to be mentored by a physician who encouraged me to pursue medical school.
I earned my medical degree from Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007 and completed my Family Medicine Residency at Southern Colorado Family Medicine Residency in 2010.
I practiced primary care until 2014, when I returned home to Alaska. I then spent two years providing care in Dutch Harbor, followed by seven years at First Care before returning to primary care in 2023.
I am passionate about preventive medicine and helping patients understand how the body works so they can take an active role in their health and live healthier lives. I believe that patient education is a fundamental part of quality medical care. I enjoy partnering with patients to successfully manage chronic conditions and believe that careful listening is essential in understanding each individual’s concerns and creating a personalized plan of care together.
I also enjoy finding practical solutions that work for an individual’s needs. I believe every patient deserves to feel that their health is a priority and to receive personalized, compassionate care. My professional interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, acute care, and DOT physicals.
